Choose the design style of your Web site from the images shown, and follow the following steps to modify them for your Web site.
- Click on the link to download .zip files of the Dreamweaver Web site starters and double click on the .zip file to unzip them into the public_html folder of the U drive on the computer to which you're logged in in the Open Access Lab.
- Select all and copy the files out of the folder created when the archive was unzipped and paste them into the root level of your public_html folder. You may then delete the .zip file and the folder that originally contained the files.
- From Dreamweaver, open the file containing the name home and save it as index.html before editing and/or adding links. Edit this file with your information and preview it in your browser. Now, your Website is started.
- Continue editing other pages with the format you need for posting photos, your resume, etc.
- DO NOT USE spaces in your file names, and DO NOT USE any control characters (ie, /, ?, #, etc.) in your file names.
- Web addresses on people.tamu.edu are CASE SENSITIVE. For simplicity, I recommend using ALL LOWER CASE letters in file names.
