Dr. Astrid Volder is the Horticulture faculty member associated with the TAMU Interdisciplinary green roof project. Each semester, up to 5 Horticulture majors undertake HORT 485 directed studies with her and the interdisciplinary team working on constructing and monitoring the green roof on Texas A&M’s campus. Students can sign up for the 485 by contacting Dr. Volder (room 405, a-volder@tamu.edu) and filling out the 485 form provided by Katie Marek, Undergraduate HORT Advisor. The horticulture section has fixed meeting times (Spring 2013: Thursday mornings from 8.30am – 11.30am). Sections run by Atmospheric Sciences and Landscape Architecture (only 5 students each) will likely meet Tuesday mornings or Wednesday afternoons.
